When you sign up for service with Verizon wireless, you need to choose a rate plan for minutes and messages, and if you have a smartphone data too. Verizon wireless offers an array of options to suit your needs. But you may still be billed for overage charges if you don't use the best plan to suit your usage needs. Overage charges are the additional fees charged for going over your allotted amount of monthly minutes, messages or data downloads. When you sign up for your plan, these fees are listed by each plan. Since there are a variety of plans available, be sure to pay attention to the cost of overages, so you're not surprised when you receive your monthly bill.
