TCL TAB Pro 5G - Customize Your Home Screen

Here's how to add / remove Home screen items (widgets, apps or folders) and set the wallpaper on your TAB Pro 5G.

Add Apps

A shortcut to an individual contact or bookmark can be added to the Home screen via a widget.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down to access all apps.
  2. Touch and hold an app.
  3. Drag the shortcut to the preferred Home screen then release.
    For the app to be successfully added, there must be sufficient space within the selected Home screen. If needed, additional Home screen panels may be added.

Add Widgets

Widgets are mini-apps (e.g., weather, clock, calendar, etc.) that can be added to a Home screen. They aren't the same as shortcuts as they generally display info and take up more space than a single icon.
  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
  2. Tap
    Widgets
     (at the bottom).
  3. Touch and hold a widget.
  4. Drag the widget to the preferred Home screen then release.
    For the widget to be successfully added, there must be sufficient space on the desired screen. If needed, additional Home screen panels may be added.
  5. If applicable, tap additional options to activate the widget.
    Options vary depending upon the type of widget.

Add / Remove Folders

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold an app (e.g., Email, My Verizon, etc.).
  2. Drag the app onto another app (e.g., Gmail, Call Filter, etc.) then release it.
    A folder containing the shortcuts is created (folder name is blank by default). To rename the folder:
    1. Tap the folder.
    2. Tap the
      Title bar
       (top of the open folder).
    3. Enter a name then tap the
      Back icon Back icon
      (lower-left).
    To remove a folder, drag the app(s) out of an existing folder until the folder disappears.

Remove Apps / Widgets

Removing an app from a Home screen uninstalls it from your device.
  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold the item (e.g., widgets, apps, folders, etc.).
  2. Drag the item onto
    Remove
     (upper-right) and release.

Set Wallpaper

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold a blank area.
  2. Tap
    Wallpapers
     (at the bottom).
  3. Do one of the following:
    • To use an existing wallpaper image:
      1. Select a wallpaper image from the list.
      2. Tap the image to switch between Home and Lock screen.
      3. Tap
        Edit crop
         (lower-left) to adjust the area.
      4. Tap 'Done' (lower-right) to set the image on the current screen, or tap 'Set both' to set the image on both screens.
    • To use an image from your gallery:
      1. Tap
        My photos
         (the first wallpaper option).
      2. If prompted, select an app (e.g., Gallery, Photos, etc.).
      3. Locate then select the preferred picture.
      4. Tap the image to switch between Home and Lock screen.
      5. Tap
        Edit crop
         (lower-left) to adjust the area.
      6. Tap 'Done' (lower-right) to set the image on the current screen, or tap 'Set both' to set the image on both screens.
