What is LTE Home Internet?

Verizon LTE Home Internet is a fast, secure broadband connection that's powered by Verizon's award-winning 4G LTE network. The data transfer rates of 4G LTE allow you to share video, stream, game and work without the need for cable internet.

Unlike traditional cable internet, Verizon 4G LTE Home Internet doesn't rely on a wired connection to your home. That means it can be available in areas where there are few broadband options. It works much like your mobile phone, with the 4G LTE signal connecting to a router in your home. That router also connects to your devices via Wi-Fi. You'll enjoy internet access with no data limits* and typical download speeds of 25 to 50 Mbps—powerful enough to download movies in minutes, stream in 1080p HD, video conference and play most online games.

With Verizon 4G LTE, you'll enjoy:

  • Fast, reliable bandwidth with no data limits*
  • No annual contracts, hidden fees or equipment charges
  • Our Best Value Guarantee, locking in your price for up to 3 years, depending on plan, with no unexpected price hikes
  • Affordable pricing with Auto Pay discounts and when you combine the service with any Verizon mobile phone plan

To check 4G LTE Home Internet availability in your area, enter your address or check out our coverage map. Still have questions? Visit our LTE FAQ page to learn more.

What speeds are available with LTE Home Internet?

Typically, you'll experience download speeds between 25 and 50 Mbps and upload speeds between 4 and 5 Mbps. Verizon LTE Home Internet speed can support most everyday online activities—downloading songs or photos, streaming movies and shows in high definition, and gaming.

How much does LTE Home Internet cost?

Your Verizon LTE Home Internet price will depend on which services are available at your address and which plan best fits your needs. All Verizon LTE Home Internet plans come with no annual contracts, hidden fees, equipment charges or data caps*. Plus, with Verizon's Best Value Guarantee, you can lock in your price, for up to 3 years, depending on plan, so you don't have to worry about unexpected price increases.

You may also be eligible for Verizon discounts to help you save on our best home internet plans available in your area, as Verizon offers discounts for service members, teachers, nurses, students and first responders. You also can get a discount by bundling mobile and home and by enrolling in Auto Pay.

Installation of your Verizon router is simple and quick. Just follow the step-by-step instructions by scanning the included QR code or visiting our universal setup page.

*Self setup not available in all areas.

What's the difference between LTE vs. 5G?

LTE and 5G are cellular technologies that provide reliable high-speed connections; 4G LTE has been around longer and is widely deployed, while 5G is the latest technology. Along with mobile phone service, both technologies can provide fixed wireless access, or FWA, which means their cellular technology can deliver home internet to your home without the need to run cables. FWA connections using LTE and 5G can support multiple devices and everyday online activities.

So what's the difference between 5G Home Internet and LTE?

Verizon LTE Home Internet is:

  • Widely available, making it a good option for those in areas where other internet options are not yet offered
  • Typical download speeds of 25-50 Mbps
  • Ideal for everyday online activities like web browsing, streaming and sending email

Verizon 5G Home Internet, which is broadly available, offers:

  • Fast* speeds for both downloads and uploads
  • Ultra HD 4K streaming, so you can enjoy smooth and sharp videos and movies, with our 5G Home Ultimate plan
  • Increased bandwidth and lower latency for activities like streaming, gaming and augmented reality

Both Verizon LTE Home Internet and Verizon 5G Home Internet are easy to install yourself** and come with competitive price guarantees and no hidden fees or equipment charges. To determine which services are available at your location, enter your address or check out our coverage map.

*5G Home/LTE Home Internet services provided through cellular network; speeds vary due to factors affecting cellular networks.

** Self setup not available in all areas.

What is the LTE Home Internet price guarantee?

There are no annual contracts, taxes or hidden fees, and no extra equipment charges for the router rental. Unlike some other providers, new Verizon Home Internet plan customers will get a multi-year price guarantee. So you don't have to worry about unexpected price hikes. See the plan details for more pricing information and our current price guarantee.

What affordable Verizon Home Internet options are available?

Verizon participated in ACP, the Affordable Connectivity Program, while the program was active prior to the last fully funded month of April 2024. Verizon continues to provide reduced-cost internet to eligible new or existing home Internet customers who have qualified for Lifeline, SNAP, WIC, and other assistance programs within 180 days of application or received a Federal Pell Grant within the past year with our Verizon Forward program. Qualifying customers receive a service discount on their Fios, 5G Home Internet, or Verizon Home Internet Lite plan price. Existing LTE Home Internet customers may qualify as well.

Verizon knows affordable internet access is important in today's connected world. You may be eligible to save money with other Verizon discounts, like:

You also can get a discount by signing up for Auto Pay.
